Tangerines ★

In one study that examined tangerines and three other citrus fruits for pectin content (Lemon, Grapefruit, and Oranges), tangerines had the highest levels1.

Tangerines also contain chemicals that help increase the body’s sensitivity to insulin and help stimulate genes that help burn fat so the fruit may be an effective weapon against diabetes and obesity2.

Tangerines may also help fight esophageal cancer. One very large study done showed that people who drank fresh squeezed citrus fruits like tangerines had a 42% reduction in their risk of developing esophageal cancer3.
