Blue Cheese

Blue cheese is made from non skim cow’s milk and typically has a buttery and salty flavor to it. This cheese is usually soft but can be firm and crumbly as well. The bluish marbling or “veins” has a strong taste to it. The particular type of Blue cheese here is Gorgonzola.

Blue Cheese may help you deal with common colds. It can help reduce inflammation and can help reduce muscle pain. What’s great (or weird) about this particular remedy is that you apply it to your calves or shins when they’re feeling sore.

Swiss Cheese

Not all Swiss cheeses fall into the hard cheese category but there are types of Swiss cheeses that are considered hard cheeses. Emmenthal and Kasseri are types of hard Swiss cheeses.

Most of the other hard cheeses out there (and some of these) are variations of the cheeses listed here. All have similar health benefits and may differ in fat content, lactose, protein, or the types of probiotic bacteria present in the cheese. All hard cheeses go through months of processing and curing to create and prepare it. They are aged for at least a few months. The longer they are aged the sharper they taste.
